  • Look of Love for Peace at Home Shelter

Monday night was my first Look of Love event to support the Peace at Home Shelter.  It is a shelter for battered families to escape from abusive relationships.  They have just broken ground on a new facility in Fayetteville.  I am so excited to be a part of contributing to there expansion with the money raised at this event.

I had it at my new studio in Fayetteville's Colt Square.  Everything was set to go.  However, I didn't consider the weather.  It played a significant roll in the attendance of guests.  We had a major storm come though.  Within an hour roads all over NWA were being shut down because of flooding.  YIKES!  I still had a great turn out.  I can't believe how many people braved the storm to support the event.

Here is a link to a little slide show of some of the images that were on display and the set up of the evening.  Enjoy!

  •  On Saturday I photographed Drew and Randa.  They are getting married in Springdale in May.  We first went to the park and took some fun photos.  Then we hopped over to Dickson street for a few fun ones.  You can check them out http://www.kkbphotography.com/slideshows/Skarda

IMG_9141 We found a coffee shop that had just painted it's window for Valentine's Day.  It is so perfect!

  • I went to Tulsa yesterday with 2 of my photography friends Lena Marshal and Heather Fraiser.  We went to a photography conference.  Captivated Be The Light by Ed Pierce.  It was all about how to light your subject.  I have been photographing for over 15 years.  You think you know it all.  ha ha...there is always something else to learn.  I am amazed that every time I leave a conference I come home with a new idea of how to look at photography.  That is what makes this job so much fun!

We had a great time.  I even won a door prize.  I is a bright blue Canon EOS fanny pack.  I can't wait to make one of my assistants wear it to a wedding.

  • Ramey IMG_0741 IMG_1019 Congratulations to Katie and Patrick Rhamey who got to ring in the New Year with style.  They we married in Kerrville, Texas on New Years Eve.  Then all the guests were bused a little ways down a country road into Hunt.  They had constructed a magical tent right on the Guatalupe River.  The danced the night away.  At the stroke of midnight all the guests were dazzled with a private fireworks display to celebrate the wedding and the New Year.  It was the kind of night dreams are made of.
